Sure Foot Productions is an independent theatre company dedicated to telling stories that excite, inspire and stimulate. We provide a platform for emerging Australian artists, both on stage and behind the scenes. Our aim is to produce works that affect our audiences in unexpected ways and foster conversation, whether that be joyful excitement or heated debate.

Kitty Hopwood (Producer/Cast)

Kitty is an Actor, Producer, 1st AD and lover of stories.  She graduated from The Actors Studio Australia in 2011 and went on to study at Atlantic Acting School in New York, where she perfected the arts of couch-surfing and salad-bar-dining. Since 2011, Kitty’s stage credits have included Romeo & Juliet (Angela Blake), Joan, Again (Paul Gilchrist), The Credeaux Canvas - which she also co-produced with Sure Foot Productions (directed by Byron Kaye), Between Us (Byron Kaye), Something Wicked This Way Comes (Keith Agius), A Lovely Sunday For Creve Coeur (Byron Kaye) and Five Women Wearing The Same Dress (Andrew Doyle). Screen credits include short films Blackbird, Through Hands, Mailbox, Timing & In Flames, as well as upcoming web series The Bench.  Kitty is a founding partner of Sure Foot Productions.

 

 

Richard Cornally (Producer/Director)

Having studied extensively at ATYP as a youngster, Richard went on to graduate from the Actors’ Studio Australia in 2008 and fulfilled a years-long dream in 2016 when he travelled to New York to study with Patsy Rodenberg.

Richard began teaching at the Actors Studio just prior to his graduation and went on to become the Artistic Director of Sydney Drama School from 2012-2016. He has now been teaching acting for 10 years.

He began studying creative writing at The Writers’ Studio in 2013 and became a tutor for them in 2014.

In 2013 RIchard co-founded Sure Foot Productions, which mounted its first independent theatre production (THE CREDEAUX CANVAS) to full houses and rave reviews at Sydney’s iconic Tap Gallery.

These days Richard shares his time between his role as tutor for The Writers’ Studio, teacher at The Sydney Drama School, continuing to develop several writing, directing and acting projects and pretending to have a social life.

His acting credits include THE BALD SOPRANO (PACT), AND NOW TO BED (Kings Cross Theatre), THE CREDEAUX CANVAS (Tap Gallery), BEDROOM FARCE (Darlinghurst Theatre), TOM & NICOLE (Melbourne Comedy Festival), several short films and the feature film TWENTYTEN, which won Best Picture at the Clearwater Film Festival.

As a Director, Richard has had the pleasure to work in both theatre and film, most recently on the the web series THE BENCH, for which he also oversaw the script development process and wrote one episode.

Richard believes there is no point to living if you aren’t challenging yourself.
